A week in the life

Olivia got a hold of the camera this morning! She got some tired parent pictures...

And then started taking selfies the old fashioned way :)

When I took a picture of her picture taking our flashes went off at the same time and I ended up with a negative :). O says it makes her look like Santa's Elf so she's good with it!

Bed head or not, she is one beautiful girl

St. Patrick's day was green dress up day! I am proud to say that she has very little green clothing (Go Beavers!), but she insisted that everything be green, so she ended up with a dress 2 sizes too small and green undershorts instead of underwear (everyone has to go commando every once in a while right?!)

Big sister smothering her with love, as usual :)

Such a doll...her faces crack me up :)

Olivia drew our family portrait in chalk all by herself! The order is Kenzie (small on the right), Mom, Olivia (in front of her), Carter (he is sitting on the hair), Dad.

I love when work comes home that shows my independent spunky daughter has a loving, sweet side as well. She is completely enamored with her sister.

At 4 months old, Kenzie got her first banana/rice cereal mixture! She didn't master it her first time, but we will try again :)

As luck would have it, Olivia had two dress up days in one week! Tuesday was green for St. Patricks, and Thursday was Cowboy day! I had to look all over for her button down shirt, it's not one she wears often, and it made me miss Philomath, wear this would be completely normal everyday garb.

And a cowboy pose of course :)

This is more like the girl I know and love...

Grandma and Grandpa brought bath crayons, and the kids have been loving them! I have been loving how easily they clean up. A win-win!

When both girls have a hard night full of wake-ups and feedings and nightmares, this cute guy and I get to eat breakfast together :)

Why yes, I did pull ahead in the family bracket at the very beginning...I may have started bragging early, but since 4 of those people below me actually knew of more than half the teams, I felt I had a reason to brag.

We are home!

Does anyone else think that most pate' tastes like cat food? I saw this at Costco and felt validated in my severe dislike for pate'

We set up the jumper for Kenzie, but I'm not sure who likes the it more...they are both entranced at this point :)

I love it when kids fall asleep in weird places. She didn't even fuss, just laid down her head and was out.

Our spring cleaning began a little early this year (when Kenzie was about 3 months old I finally felt like I could get caught up on all the extra cleaning things) so by mid-March we were ready for a pressure washing day! I love having clean garbage cans and laundry baskets. I don't know why, but it's one of my favorite things :)

After a fun dinner of french toast dippers, Olivia did her first shot! She drank every drop of syrup from her cup, and was begging for everyone else's leftovers.

baby joy :)

Oh no! Our first major appliance repair as a married couple. Alex gave it his best shot before calling in a professional :(. $$$ and a new motor later and we were back in business.

O made friends with this ladybug! She played with it forever before she finally got distracted by the trampoline.

We went on a mini-hike at Camelsback Park on one of the warmer days. It was the perfect length for our little legged ones, who didn't even need carried. It also allowed for a quick run down the hill to the bathroom when it was needed!

The kids enjoyed the playground at the bottom before we went out for lunch. It was great day

The next day, when Olivia and I were having 'obedience practice' upstairs, I left the two littles downstairs by themselves. When I came back down, Carter had sat Makenzie up on the couch (AAHH!) and climbed up next to her to read his favorite story completely unprompted. He has such a sweet heart. He also put that headband on her head :)

Makenzie might live in a world of constant overstimulation :)

Olivia is all about dressing herself, and I am all for it, especially when it happens without nagging! Sometimes I cringe at the outfit choices, but who says pink with glitter doesn't match pink corduroy  and pink stripes and pink hello kitty?

Going to the events at Daddy's work is always challenging because he works until midway through the 3rd quarter, so it ends up me being me taking 3 kids under 5 to a busy sporting event by myself. Regardless, we try to make it happen fairly often, and we always have a good time. This time it was the Idaho Stampede (including Beaver alum Jared Cunningham! - or he might have been on the other team...can't remember).

9:00 was late for the kids...we didn't get home until after 10 and they were exhausted but they talked about it for weeks, and still enjoy banging the spirit sticks!

Meeting Thunder the mascot...I was up in the seats feeding Makenzie, so it's a blurry phone picture.

Guess who's 4 months old! She is just now getting more tolerant of tummy time, but hasn't figured out the coordination needed to roll over. We love watching her grow day-by-day, and I especially love watching her relationships with her siblings. I am so blessed to be the mom to these 3 great kids. Makenzie has taken 1 out-of-state trip, and has another one coming up later in March. She travels very well, sleeping most of the time. She is showing her love for dad with more smiles and laughs, so I am working on her allegiences :). We just love having Makenzie Brooke in our family.

She also loves pulling hair, and her siblings are quite tolerant of it :)
