The first week in March, the kids and I were able to take a trip to Utah with my mom! It was my first trip solo (I say solo but my mom was there and is more efficient at this parenting thing than I am...) and it was totally a blast!
We had to start the trip with a farewell flame shot from Boise...these kids are wacko and I love them :)
We got to Aunt Dalita's late, but the next morning the kids were all about the puppet theater. Not very many aunts have a theater in their house, we are especially lucky.
Thanks to some amazing teenage cousins, I was able to leave the kids and see Pentatonix with my mom, sister, aunt, and cousins. Makenzie was a little shocked at the noise level, but she fell asleep partly through and did very well.
The concert was so fun! I'm not much of a concert person usually, but this was a blast. Great music, and goofing off with my family is always fun.
I was so glad to get to see lots of Tasha while we were in town. It seems like I'm always running around (3 kids will do that to you) but we actually got to hang out and chat which was great. We also got to see her work, where she showed us how to make glasses! The kids were amazed, and I thought it was pretty cool too.
I started using Duolingo to learn Portuguese, and was really excited when I got this sentence. I had to add an unnecessary exclamation point in honor of Tasha ;).
I got these pictures from Alex, who was hard at work cleaning the carpets while we were gone. What an amazing guy!
True to form of any vacation with the Stays, we filled every moment. One day we met Ali and kids at Thanksgiving Point to play at the Discovery Center.
Olivia's favorite part (of course) was being on stage showing off her dancing and playing skills :)
Carter might have liked it too.
This isn't even close to the finished project, but Maggie built a tower nearly to the ceiling. She just kept adding steps to her stool to make herself taller!
After rooms and rooms of adventures and playing, the kids were exhausted by the time we found the water room, but they can't pass up a chance to get wet!
Carter was happiest at the baby table, probably because he didn't have to stand up!
Kenzie didn't make it through the whole museum, and the kids were both asleep before we left the parking lot.
The real reason for going on this trip was to see Tasha sing (a huge treat!) and Grandpa Turkey Buzzard came to see it too! The kids loved playing on the 'whole park playground' in Maggie's backyard.
I didn't get any pictures of the chocolate tasting that we went to after pedicures that afternoon! I was grateful for the many babysitters (this time it was Grandpa) who played with the kids so I could play with the girls!
Just one of the amazing cousins who are always fun and lovely. They never hesitate to play with the kids, and Olivia looks up to them so much.
Goodbye Utah! We had a great time, and I can't wait to do it again!
On the way home Olivia sent this text to Dad with voice-to-text. I always have to fix a few words, but she is quite proficient at using it. She might love to talk just a bit!
