First I want to apologize for the picture quality...I use my phone on an every day basis to take normal pictures, and only get out the nice camera for outings and/or special days. Sometime in December, this adorable little one changed the setting in my phone's camera to take low quality pictures...it is remedied now, but I apparently should check those things more often.
I never want to forget the love this girl has for her squeaky shoes. They didn't get a lot of use with Olivia (a certain parent absolutely HATES them) but this girl goes to her shoe drawer every day and digs them out to wear. I've never known a baby so little to have such strong shoe preferences. Occasionally she is distracted by her Dorothy shoes or other glittery sandals, but the squeaky shoes always win out in the end :).
This was about 2/3 of the post-trip laundry...actually this is about what we do on a weekly basis, but our week is getting shorter with each kid we have. Now I have a laundry day about every 5 days, where I get it all through the washer throughout the day and spend the evening folding. I'm sure with Baby Boy this will get even more frequent, but we have to keep clothes on them somehow!
After our trip we discovered that our back yard had turned into a jungle! We aren't familiar with the local plants, and are completely unsure what will grow back after having drought for so many years, so this amazing jungle grass was an awesome surprise! As it turns out, it's a not-very-beautiful flower when it actually blooms, but the grass was cool.
Kenzie LOVES the trampoline. the kids are on there every day, perfecting their tricks and 'flips' but I always worry about putting little ones on. She bounces around and occasionally sits on the side to rest, but she loves laying down and just flopping around. She never cries and the biggest challenge is getting her off when it's time.
When mom has to start dinner, she has to come inside. Not a happy time, she spends it looking outside and counting the months until she is big enough to go outside solo. It will probably be this spring when it warms up a bit, but she can't wait.
A rare moment of kids playing a game and M NOT ruining it. If I remember correctly, this lasted for about 30 seconds before she realized their game was more fun than her book.
Every few weeks I have one of these potty training pictures. I wish we had been more successful with it, but after weeks of decent training but never #2 on the toilet, then realizing that if I didn't make him go he would still have an accident every time, C is back in diapers...I hope he gets it soon!
Just a cute picture of the kids waiting for Dad to come home.
I love these kids and their Daddy. When he does get home from work, it's rare to find him without at least 1 kid hanging off of him, and most of the time it's 2 or 3. Makenzie gets so excited she jumps and claps every time she hears his key in the lock, and the kids come running from wherever they are.
One afternoon, Alex took the kids to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum, where we bought at annual pass. It's a fun little science center that is mostly about owls and houses a bunch of little local animals. There are some interactive games and pet-the-animal sessions every day, and it has a nice park with playground outside for picnics. We love that it's only about 10 minutes away, and the size is perfect for our kids who love a 2 hour activity.
This kid is such a blast at soccer. He loves scoring the goals and celebrates every one. I wish I had better pictures of Olivia, but her class moves a LOT faster and it's hard to catch her in one place!
One of the coolest gifts we have ever received for our kids is their boxes from Grandma Mary and Grandpa Gary. These are subscription boxes (O gets a craft box and C gets a learning about animals box) that come every month and have a few activities for each kid. They are so excited to get mail every time, and it's nice to have one-on-one activities to do with them, especially during these inside months. It's definitely something we will try to continue in future years.
Dress up day! Probably the first time M had an actual dress up costume on, and she totally loved it. Kept patting the poofy skirt and turning around, just like the girly girl that helped her get all dolled up :)
Carter spent most of these pictures fixing his pirate Spiderman patch so he could only see out of one eye :)
We will call this a 'healthy' snack. I tend to live it up during pregnancy and have as little self control as I want. I know I will pay for it later, but it's nice to have some weeks when I can eat an entire candy bar in one sitting.
Pizza movie night! All of the kids got to sit together for the first time this evening, and M loved every second of it.
Carter picked his own clothes and got himself dressed this day...you would never know :). Luckily it was a day with not a lot of errands, so the knee high socks and shorts wasn't too cold...and I'm not sure he even knew the shirt was backwards. Just another fun accomplishment from this boy :).
Another craft afternoon! O made a sock snowman while C used cool sticky styrofoam things to put stripes on a zebra.
Park day! We rarely go to the local park without running into someone from Olivia's class. It's a phenomenon that is new to our family, and it's always fun to have someone to chat with while the kids run around :)
