Little Kid Pictures!

One smoky afternoon in August we took all the kids up to Kamiak Butte to take pictures of the littler ones. We have an awesome photographer (Kira) who is great with the kids and always gets great shots. The air this time was super smoky and I was concerned, but I think they turned out great. We decided to make it a 3 year shoot for Makenzie (who will be 3 in November) and a 1 year shoot for Hunter (who was 1 in May). We are stretching it a bit, but what can the 3rd and 4th child expect?

Makenzie was being a pill at first, but she couldn't resist when I started singing her favorite Disney songs with silly words. It's become my new go-to (in addition to sit still marshmallows) for picture smiles :)

I just love all her faces :).  She continues to develop her personality and sense of humor, and is always looking for the laugh. She loves dogs, blue, and Beauty and the Beast. She says when she is a grownup she will be a mommy with 5 dogs, all of which will be blue :) Makenzie points out M's all over the place, and says 'Mom! M, M, mmmm for Kenzie!' so perhaps we should work on full name verses nickname, but I love it too much to correct at this point. I'm looking forward to spending some time with her as the 'big kid' at home this fall, because she already loves to help her little brother have everything he wants and more :).

Hunter was a little stoic the whole time, so I'm amazed at all the expressions and poses she was able to get pictures of. I just love these little guys :)

This one melts my heart because I know he was looking at me that way over Kira's shoulder. I don't imagine my kids looking at me this way, but they do occasionally :)

Hunter knows all his basic body parts, but he will only identify them on other people. If you ask 'Hunter, where is your nose?' He will walk right up and touch your nose. However, he recently rediscovered his own toes, and he plays with them all the time :) I love that no matter what he is doing, if you say 'Hunter, where are your piggies?' or 'Where are your toes?' he stands up, reaches all the way down, nearly toppling in the process, and touches all of his toes one at a time :).

I'm so lucky to have him as my baby. I sometimes get grumpy about his desire to be held all the time, but he is a sweet, sweet boy who loves his mom and dad, and is the perfect final installment to this craziness we call parenting.
